SINGAPORE (Nov 30): Shipbuilder JES International is planning to acquire Malaysian investment holding company Maya Asia Resources for $16.3 million in a cash and shares deal.

Maya Asia is an investment holding company with certain subsidiaries engaged in the trading and manufacturing of plastic products, foodstuffs, household insecticides, seasoning, beverages and infant products.

The target company has an authorised share capital of RM50 million ($16 million) and an issued and paid up share capital of RM48.5 million comprising 48.5 million shares of RM1 each.
