SINGAPORE (Nov 4): A consortium led by ARA Asset Management’s founder John Lim is said to be considering a buyout of the company, according to people familiar with the situation.

Based on a report by Dow Jones Newswire, the consortium also comprises other existing shareholders who collectively own 47% of the company, including US private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC.

ARA has a market value of close to $1.5 billion, and manages a $30 billion property portfolio of shopping malls, offices, and logistics facilities which are held through real-estate investment trusts and private funds.
