SINGAPORE (Oct 5): UOB Kay Hian says Singapore’s hoteliers may have less to cheer during China’s National Day Golden Week. That's the seven day-long holiday which started this week and marks one of the nation’s biggest events for outbound travel and retail spending.

The research house is keeping the hospitality REITs sector at “overweight” after analysts Derek Chang and Vikrant Pandey note that the average length of stay (ALOS) for Chinese visitors, Singapore’s largest source market, has “deteriorated rapidly” since 2014.

In a Wednesday report, the analysts share how their pessimism towards the much-anticipated Golden Week stems from the following observations:
