SINGAPORE (Jan 5): The Land Transport Authority and the Singapore Land Authority jointly announced on Tuesday evening that the Singapore government has gazetted the site of the Raffles Country Club for acquisition.

The site will house the facilities for the Kuala-Lumpur Singapore High Speed Rail, the western depot of the Cross Island Line, and other transport related needs.

According to the release, the site is located just after a planned bridge over the Straits of Johor and will run the “at-grade HSR tracks immediately after the bridge crossing, and to place the tunnel portal leading to the underground tunnels that would take the HSR to the Jurong East terminus”.
