SINGAPORE (Sept 1): FTSE Russell on Thursday announced that oil rig builder Sembcorp Marine will be removed as one of the 30 constituents of the Straits Times Index (STI) following the September quarterly review.

In its place, Jardine Matheson Holdings, whose subsidiaries include Dairy Farm, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Jardine Cycle & Carriage, and Astra International, will be added to the Index, according to a filing to the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

The STI reserve list, comprising the five highest ranking non-constituents of the Index by market capitalisation which will replace any constituents that become ineligible before the next review, will be Mapletree Commercial Trust, Suntec REIT, Keppel REIT, Mapletree Industrial Trust, and Singapore Post.
