SINGAPORE (Nov 4): Here are some factors and stocks that could move the market this Friday morning:

Singapore Airlines reported a 70% fall in 2Q earnings to $64.9 million as excess capacity and aggressive pricing by competitors depressed yields. SIA’s operating profit fell 20% to $79 million while SilkAir’s operating profit fell 20% to $17 million. However, Scoot and Tiger Airways registered operating profits of $5 million and $3 million respectively from losses a year ago. Shares of SIA closed 2 cents lower at $10.11.

Hyflux saw a tripling of 3Q earnings to $21.5 million, or 0.38 cents per share, from $6.4 million a year ago on higher revenue. Revenue more than doubled to a record $295.9 million, lifted mainly by TuasOne waste-to-energy (WTE) project and Qurayyat Independent Water Project (IWP) in the Sultanate of Oman. Shares of Hyflux closed 1.5 cents higher at 46.5 cents.
