SINGAPORE (Aug 3): Singapore listed companies showed an improvement in corporate governance this year, according to the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index (SGTI) 2016.

The companies scored a mean of 49.7 points this year, 2.1 points higher than the 47.6 points last year. But this is lower than the average increase of 4 points per year from 2011 to 2015.

The index assessed and ranked 631 Singapore listed companies based on 2015 annual reports as well as other publicly available information released by 31 Dec 2015. The companies scored a mean of 49.7 points this year compared to 47.6 points last year.
