SINGAPORE (Sept 7): For the second time running, Singapore has been declared the number one Asian city and the only Asian country to emerge among the top five in PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) Cities of Opportunity index this year.

Overall, the city state comes in second after London, which retains its first position for the second edition in a row. Singapore ranked seventh in 2012 and third in the 2014 edition of the index.

The index is meant to provide a “balanced benchmarking of the social and economic health of 30 of the world’s leading business cities”, each measured against 10 indicators.
