SINGAPORE (Sept 25): Singapore stocks closed lower on Thursday, falling for the fourth consecutive session amid increased volatility in the global markets this week.

Leading the losses were commodities, offshore marine and property developers. Among them, Yanzijiang Shipbuilding lost 1.3% while Keppel Corp. lost 0.8%.

As at 5.04pm, the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) was down 0.14% or 3.83 points to 2,805.52. About 1.1 billion shares valued at $1.23 billion were traded. Losers outnumbered gainers 207 to 139.
