SINGAPORE (Oct 18): Singapore stocks closed 0.48% higher, supported by gains in crude oil and palm oil prices.

The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) ended the day 13.56 points higher at 2,830.63. In the broader market, 1.58 billion shares valued at $902.3 million changed hands. Gainers outnumbered losers 208 to 170.

Noble Group was the most active, up 1.1% to 18.2 cents with 116.7 million shares traded. WE Holdings was next, closing 0.1 cent higher at 0.6 cents with 109 million shares traded.
