SINGAPORE (Oct 7): Singapore’s gaming scene has barely passed infancy, but a number of homegrown players are already making their presence felt in the regional and global gaming circuits.

One of them is award-winning game maker The Witching Hour Studios, which bagged the Best Indie Game award last year at the Tokyo Game Show for its role-playing game Masquerada: Songs and Shadows. Its creator, Ian Gregory Tan, co-founded the company with capital of $50,000 in 2010.

Meanwhile, game publisher GoGame sees an opportunity to disrupt the market for publishing. Besides a more equitable model, the company is also hoping to lure developers by investing in new technologies. It also has a game streaming platform which founder David Ng says allows users to load the game without downloading it, allowing them to save on their data.
