SINGAPORE (June 19): An SIA Engineering JV has been selected as designated MRO facility in Singapore for one of two engines that power the Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Eagle Services Asia (ESA), a joint venture between SIAEC and Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp, has been selected as a local MRO facility for PW1100G-JM PurePower Geared Turbofan (GTF) engines.

ESA will invest US$85 million ($118 million) to equip the facility with advanced capabilities such as an environment control system and an engine flow line system as well as an upgrade to its test cell to ready itself to perform MRO services on the GTF engines.
