SINGAPORE (May 20): Ahead of the reopening of Singapore’s economy on June 2, CGS-CIMB Research expects more government support packages to help businesses and individuals to weather through the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat is expected to announce these plans on May 26, according to the Ministry of Finance.

“We do not rule out more wage support and cash bonuses,” CGS-CIMB head of research Lim Siew Khee writes in a note dated May 19.
