SINGAPORE (Feb 17): Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) announced it has launched four new investment funds for retail investors in Singapore.
The funds – Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets Equity ESG Portfolio, Goldman Sachs Global Millennials Equity Portfolio, Goldman Sachs Global Real Estate Equity Portfolio, and Goldman Sachs Absolute Return Tracker Portfolio – were previously available only to private banking and institutional investors in Singapore.
This brings GSAM’s total number of retail-registered funds in Singapore to 22.
“We are pleased to expand our retail offering in Singapore to address local retail investors’ demand for unique and differentiated funds. The latest additions will provide these investors access to thematic equity funds and alternatives which will offer diversification benefits amidst global market volatility and changing investment trends,” says Jessica Jones, head of GSAM’s retail client business in Asia Pacific ex-Japan.
Employing growth equity, value equity, global equity and real estate securities strategies, GSAM’s Fundamental Equity team conducts original, bottom-up research across a broad range of capitalisations and styles, spanning global developed and emerging markets.
“We believe integrating material ESG factors into an investment decision making process is a crucial driver of better long term risk-adjusted returns. This is especially true across emerging markets, where information and disclosure is still limited,” says Kathryn Koch, co-head of fundamental equity at GSAM.
“Thematically, one of the global mega trends that most excites us currently is the rise of the millennial consumer,” she adds. “We believe targeting companies that benefit from the rising wealth and changing habits of the millennial generation can drive superior long term returns.”
