SINGAPORE (March 20): Civmec, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Forgacs Marine and Defence, has entered into an agreement with ASC Shipbuilding to jointly bid for the construction of 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) for the Royal Australian Navy.

Civmec is the construction and engineering services provider to the oil and gas and defence sectors based in Australia.

ASC Shipbuilding and Forgacs were jointly chosen by two of the three shortlisted designers to work with them on the tender for the government OPV programme, known as Project SEA 1180.
