SINGAPORE (Oct 25): Civmec, the engineering services provider for the oil and gas industry, has won contracts for major projects in New South Wales, Australia, to the combined value of A$30 million ($31.9 million).

The projects include the supply and installation of structural steel components for several stations of Northwest Rail Link project, in North West Sydney; the construction of a rail tunnel on the Sydney light rail project and the assembly and commissioning package for a Coal Terminal Reclaimer project near Wollongong.

Falling prices of oil and other commodities have taken a toll on Civmec and other O&G companies operating in Western Australia, forcing the group to diversify into new areas like infrastructure and defence.
