SINGAPORE (Sept 12): Darco Water Technologies says a consortium comprising its Malaysian unit has won a $4.7 million landfill gas recovery and conversion project in Indonesia.

The Jati Barang Landfill is located at Semarang on the north coast of the island of Java, Indonesia. Semarang is the capital and largest city of Central Java which has problem in solid waste management. Jati Barang Landfill is the biggest landfill in Semarang and has been in operation since 19921.

The project involves biogas harvesting from gas wells in the landfill, which will be covered with liners made from high density polyethylene.
