Huawei has been recognised for its efforts in championing Singapore’s Digital for Life (DfL) movement, which aims to help Singaporeans embrace digital as a lifelong pursuit and enrich their lives through digital technology.
The award was presented by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, patron of the DfL movement, to Maxi Wang, CEO of Huawei International, during an appreciation event organised by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
The accolade recognises Huawei’s contributions to the DfL movement through its Tech4City initiatives. Huawei’s Tech4City initiative is a comprehensive programme that aims to bring technology for care, inclusion, talent, and youth– a framework designed to focus on the key pillars of the nation's future, and encourage everyone to contribute to a more purposeful and meaningful success by helping others with technologies.
Huawei has also partnered with local academies and communities through its Huawei ICT Academy programme, lab visits and overseas learning journeys to nurture young community members on artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies to help build Singapore’s technology ecosystem.
Moreover, it is an advocate partner for the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore’s SG Cyber Safe Partnership Programme. Huawei partners with the Association of Information Security Professionals and the People’s Association to promote awareness about scams to foster a safer cyberspace for all.
“We are deeply honoured to be recognised as a Digital for Life Champion as a long-term partner of the Digital for Life movement. This recognition is a testament to our ongoing commitment to support Singapore’s efforts in paving the way towards a shared, sustainable future with cutting-edge technologies. Together, we are building a more resilient and forward-thinking nation, equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow,” says Wang.
