SINGAPORE (Mar 20): Making everyday purchases with the touch of a thumb, or a quick glance at a camera, are fast becoming the preferred mode of payment among Singaporeans, according to a recent Visa survey on biometric authentication for payments.

Based on a study of 500 adult consumers in Singapore who used at least one credit card, debit card and/or mobile pay, the study found that more than half of respondents have already used at least one form of biometric authentication to verify their identity or make payments.

These include fingerprint recognition (88%), facial recognition (56%), iris scanning (50%) and voice recognition (49%).
