SINGAPORE (May 9): The government and finance services sectors faced the highest number of cyber-security attacks in 2016, according to a research report published today.

Cyber-attacks on the government sector have doubled to 14% of all cyber-security attacks in 2016, from 7% in 2015, while attacks on the finance sector have more than quadrupled to 14%, from just 3% in 2015.

The retail sector, which topped the list of all cyber-security attacks in 2015, moved down into fourth place with 11%, while the manufacturing sector came in at third place, accounting for 13% of all cyber-attacks.
