SINGAPORE (June 10): If you want to treat yourself to a luxe bathroom, make sure you pick a toilet that offers the best when it comes to comfort and hygiene. A natural choice is Toto’s latest Washlet bidet toilet seat, which has been named the world’s No 1 brand of shower toilet by volume sales by Euromonitor International, a leading international market research company. The award establishes the Japanese toilet product maker’s position as a leader in the industry. After all, Toto has sold more than 40 million Washlets in its 30-year history.

The company presented the latest Washlet technologies with the theme of “Cleanovation” (a combination of clean and innovation) to industry experts and visitors at the International Sanitary and Heating 2019 fair in Frankfurt, Germany early this year. The Washlet, also known as the shower toilet, has a warm-water cleansing feature. It has additional features that are proving to be game changers in the industry.

The wand jet’s placement above the ceramic toilet bowl protects it from dirt and waste. It is also covered by a protective cap. This ensures that the wand jet is not touched by flush water, keeping all of the technical elements clean if the toilet is ever clogged.

ewater+ is used to spray the inside of the toilet bowl after flushing, and to clean the wand jet inside and out after use. ewater+ is electrolysed water with antibacterial properties. It is environmentally friendly and can be returned to the water cycle without any issues.

All Washlet models are designed to descale regularly. Descaling is important, especially in parts of the world where the water has high lime content.

The toilet has a pre-mist function, where the bowl is given a spray of mist prior to use. This prevents waste and dirt from accumulating on the bowl’s ceramic surface.
