Hyflux unit awarded $21.6 mil by arbitration tribunal

SINGAPORE (Sept 11): Hyflux announced Monday that a tribunal has ordered an interim award of US$16.1 million ($21.6 million) in favour of wholly-owned subsidiary Hydrochem.

Hydrochem had filed for arbitration in August 2015, following disputes with SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Corporation over an engineering and procurement contract dated Aug 28, 2009.

The contract was for the development, design and manufacture of certain desalination units for a desalination facility in Salalah, Oman.
