SINGAPORE (June 15): The overall value of private equity (PE) deals in Southeast Asia rose by 42% to reach US$7.8 billion ($10.7 billion), driven largely by the technology sector where the region’s two ride-hailing apps, Go-Jek and GrabTaxi, raised a total of US$1.3 billion in 3Q16.

This is according to the EY Private equity briefing: Southeast Asia (April 2017) report, which offers a roundup of PE deals and capital activities over the quarter.

The two investments were primarily focused in Indonesia.
