SINGAPORE (Sept 15): Malaysia’s Anwar Ibrahim has vowed to focus on improving parliamentary processes if elected in the upcoming by-election in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan. The 71-year-old says that he will “go down and appeal to the voters” without taking their support for granted.

Speaking at the Singapore Summit held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Anwar reiterated that his candidacy is in line with the ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition’s plans. He added that he is in no rush to take over Mahathir Mohamad as prime minister.
