SINGAPORE (Oct 18): Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, president of Malaysia’s United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), was put under arrest earlier today at 3.15pm by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The former deputy prime minister of Malaysia was arrested upon arriving at the MACC office today upon arrival for his fourth round of questioning.

The MACC said in a statement that the president of Malaysia’s former ruling party will face several charges under the MACC Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act. He is expected to be charged on Friday.
