SINGAPORE (July 10): Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad says Malaysia has not given Singapore a full notice on the planned Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR), as this decision requires the government to be mindful of the country’s resources.

“As far as the Singapore government is concerned, we have not given them a full notice yet, but they know what we want to do. Decisions are not so easy to make. When we make a decision and announce it, the market reacts negatively.

“[But] What we are doing now will ensure that financially, the country is run properly,” says Mahathir.
