Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced a $1.9 billion enhancement to the assurance package to help Singaporeans cope with the pressure of higher living costs.

In his Budget 2024 speech, Wong says all Singaporean households would get additional $600 CDC vouchers. The first $300 will be disbursed end-June, while the remaining $300 will be disbursed in January 2025.

One-off U-Save rebates between $550 to $950 will also be provided to HDB households to help them with the increases in their utility bills. This will be disbursed in April, July, October and January 2025.

Eligible HDB flats will also receive a one-off rebate for Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC). Together with the regular S&CC rebates, eligible households will receive up to four months of such rebates in FY2024.

A cost-of-living special payment of between $200 to $400 will also be handed out to eligible citizens aged 21 and above this year. They must not own more than one property and possess an assessable income of up to $100,000.
