Member for Parliament for East Coast GRC and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jessica Tan Soon Neo has been appointed as a non-executive independent director and a member of the investment committee at Ascendas India Trust.
In an SGX filing on Nov 20, the board of Ascendas Property Fund Trustee says that it is confident that Tan would be able to “contribute to the deliberations of the board” based on her qualifications and experience.
The appointment, according to the filing, also took into consideration the current size and composition of the board, including the “diversity of skills, experience, gender and knowledge”.

Tan is currently holding the position of group commercial director at the Raffles Medical Group, and has held it since June 2017. She is also currently the non-executive independent director of SATS Limited.
She was previously the managing director at Microsoft Operations from October 2003 to December 2016, and was formerly a non-executive director of CapitaLand Commercial Trust Management Limited, the manager of CapitaLand Commercial Trust from May 25, 2017 to November 2, 2020.

Shares in Ascendas India Trust closed 1 cent higher or 0.7% up at $1.35.
