EuroSports Global’s Scorpio Electric becomes the first Singapore-based electric motorcycle manufacturer given the Special Purpose Licence by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for its flagship electric maxi-scooter, the Scorpio Electric X1 (X1).
This licence is effective for 12 months starting mid-July, allowing Scorpio Electric to conduct comprehensive durability and endurance tests of the X1 on public roads in Singapore.
CEO of Scorpio Electric Joshua Goh says: "This marks a significant stride forward for Scorpio Electric to create a truly international product, and a positive step forward for Singapore to nurture a local automotive ecosystem. With a longstanding partnership with LTA, we've collectively navigated a rigorous process to pioneer this initiative, prioritising the safety of our public road stakeholders. We are thrilled to receive the SPL for the X1. The dedication and hard work of our team have brought us to this pivotal moment, turning our vision into reality as we continue to test the X1's durability and performance, this time on our own home soil. These real-world tests will provide invaluable data to enhance our future product developments.”
