IPS Securex’s servers hacked; no evidence of data exfiltration from cyberattack

IPS Securex, on Jan 2, announced that the group’s servers were hacked recently. An unknown party had gained unauthorised access to its servers and rendered its network inaccessible.

According to the group, it had taken “immediate action” along with its external experts to identify, contain and address the incident on its affected servers. The group said it had initiated recovery operations in accordance to its standard recovery protocol.

As at Jan 2, the group adds that there has been no significant impact to its business operations and that it is not aware of any evidence of data exfiltration from the attack.

The incident has been reported to the police and the Personal Data Protection Commission. Further investigations are currently ongoing.

Shares in IPS Securex closed at 2.4 cents on Dec 29, 2023.
