Australia-based engineering firm Civmec P9D has won a contract to design and build a shiploader as a replacement for an existing machine.
The shiploader is due for handover in 2028 and the total project value is expected to be between A$90 - 100 million and create 100 jobs.
“We are delighted to secure the award of this prestigious shiploader project which represents a significant advancement of our balance machine division," says Civmec CEO Patrick Tallon.
"Civmec continues to expand its footprint in the balance machines sector, including stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders, in anticipation of at least 30-40 new, replacement and major refurbishments of balance machines that will be required across Australia over the next 10 years," he adds.
With steady wins of new orders, Civmec says its total order book remains above A$800 million.
Civmec shares, quoted on the Singapore Exchange S68 , was up 2.68% to $1.15, extending a year to date gain of 43.75%.
