Nera Telecommunications (NeraTel) has entered into a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based cybersecurity leader uniXecure Corporation Ltd to provide cybersecurity solutions to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Southeast Asia (SEA). uniXecure Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiwan-listed SYSTEX Group.
Under the two-year partnership, NeraTel will be uniXecure’s preferred partner in SEA offering solutions dedicated to SMEs, which have become prime targets of cyber crimes in recent years. According to NeraTel, SMEs were targeted due to cost limitations and the lack of in-depth cybersecurity expertise.
In the initial phase of the partnership, NeraTel will leverage its international footprint to deploy uniXecure’s cybersecurity services in SEA, following which, it will take over the technical support and pre-sales from uniXecure. UniXecure will then maintain its commitment to extensive research and development to deliver cutting edge cybersecurity solutions.
“We are excited to collaborate with an established cybersecurity player such as uniXecure. This partnership underscores our efforts to enhance our cybersecurity competencies to provide best-in-class solutions and services, to bolster our position within the market,” says NeraTel’s CEO Chong Hoi Ming.
“As cyberthreats grow increasingly sophisticated and more frequent, SMEs urgently need to adopt effective cybersecurity solutions to protect their businesses. Yet, many SMEs find it a challenge to get adequate protection for their needs due to cost constraints. This partnership combines uniXecure’s deep domain expertise with our agile implementation ability to offer cost-efficient software tailored to meet the specific needs of SMEs, with limited to no disruption to business,” he adds.
“uniXecure harnesses Taiwan’s deep cybersecurity expertise to offer proprietary products that can be tailormade to the unique needs of every corporation. Singapore, as a strategic hub in Southeast Asia, is an attractive location for international corporate headquarters, making it a prime target for cyber threats,” says Jackie Chan, chairman of uniXecure.
