SINGAPORE (Feb 11): ST Engineering has bagged a five-year nacelle maintenance contract from Australian flagship carrier Qantas Airways, the group reported on Tuesday.

The contract, which was secured by ST Engineering’s Aerospace arm, will see the group provide nacelle maintenance services to the airline’s Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330 fleet. The contract is expected to commence this year.

ST Engineering’s solutions for aircraft engine nacelles cover both aftermarket services and original equipment manufacturing, which are supported by a global network of distribution centres, satellite stores and repair shops.

ST Engineering currently has a Nacelle MRO facility in Stockholm, Sweden that caters to engines such as the the latest Boeing 787 Trent 1000 and GenX, as well a facility in Middle River, US, that specialises in the design and production of thrust reversers, engine nacelle components and other aerostructures.

“ST Engineering takes pride in being a provider of comprehensive MRO solutions that cover practically the entire aircraft, from airframe and engines to its various components,” says Lim Serh Ghee, president of ST Engineering’s Aerospace sector.

“We also value the strong partnership we have forged with long standing customers such as Qantas Airways, who have continuously entrusted their various maintenance needs with us,” adds Lim.

As at 11.17am, shares in ST Engineering are trading four cents higher, or 0.96% up, at $4.20.
