Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries U96

, is in discussions with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to enter into a definitive joint venture agreement for renewable energy and green hydrogen projects across India. 

According to a Sept 13 bourse filing, the partnership aims to support India’s long-term energy transition and development goals. 

“As a leading renewable energy player in Asia with a significant presence in India, Sembcorp is well-positioned to spearhead decarbonisation initiatives with BPCL to drive India’s energy transition,” says Sembcorp. 

Shares in Sembcorp closed 1 cent higher, or 0.19% up, at $5.16 on Sept 13.
