MC Payment partners with Thailand’s Rabbit LINE Pay to offer QR payment services
The QR payment services will be offered in Thailand from 3Q2021.

MC Payment is partnering with Thailand’s Rabbit LINE Pay to offer QR payment services in Thailand from 3Q2021.

Rabbit LINE Play currently serves an estimated 8 million registered users in Thailand, with a monthly active user (MAU) ratio of 60% and over 300,000 merchants on its platform.

According to a press release dated May 18, MC Payment states that the partnership is in line with its efforts to continuously enhance their channels to provide more payment methods to consumers and help merchants accept digital payments seamlessly. The move is also expected to help MC Payment to launch cross-border payments in the region in the future.

Anthony Koh, executive director and CEO of MC Payment, says that company is pleased to partner with Rabbit LINE Pay. “With the trend of digital payments accelerated by the pandemic, Rabbit LINE Pay offers a tremendous and growing market opportunity for us. We look forward to robust take-up rates for this service,” he says.

Currently, MC payment offers local payment methods and digital wallets such as Singapore’s PayNow, ThaiQR, Boost, Alipay and WeChat Pay on its platform.

As at 10.46am, shares in MC Payment are up 0.5 cents or 1.5% at 35 cents.
