US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the Group of 20 Summit in Bali next week, according to Indonesia as the host this year.
The two are among 17 state leaders who have confirmed their attendance, President Joko Widodo told reporters in Bali on Tuesday, after inspecting preparations for the summit on Nov. 15-16.
Indonesia, which is holding the G-20 presidency for the first time, is pushing for full attendance to raise its international standing amid rising geopolitical tensions and the war in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said they “would come if the situation allows,” Widodo said.
