OUE Lippo Healthcare 5WA

, through its joint venture company (JVCo), China Merchants Lippo Hospital Management (Shenzhen) Limited, has entered into a service agreement with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

Under the service agreement, CUHK will provide management consultancy services for the development, commissioning, clinical governance, and management of Prince Bay IMC, an international medical centre, in Shenzhen China Merchants-Lippo Prince Bay Hospital.

Prince Bay Hospital, which is located in Shekou, Shenzhen, is positioned as an international high-end general hospital that serves the growing local affluent population in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Under the partnership, CUHK will help develop Prince Bay IMC. This includes the manpower planning of doctors, development of clinical specialties, clinical governance, operating system and workflow development. The university will also facilitate the credentialing and provision of education for healthcare professionals providing services in the Prince Bay IMC, as well as the development of green channel for cross border referral to hospitals within the network of CUHK and its affiliated hospitals.

We believe that the medical expertise and international medical resources from CUHK will enhance the healthcare service offerings of Prince Bay Hospital and improve patient experience,” says Yet Kum Meng, CEO of OUE Lippo Healthcare.

“We are delighted to partner with Shenzhen China Merchants-Lippo Prince Bay Hospital to help establish the Prince Bay IMC. This partnership is in line with our academic, research objectives and community spirit to bring world-class research and innovative solutions from CUHK to make tangible societal and economic impact,” says Professor Justin Wu Che Yuen, associate dean (health systems) from CUHK. Wu has been assigned to provide management consultancy services to the Prince Bay IMC.

Prince Bay Hospital is expected to be commissioned in 2024 with more than 200 beds.

As at 2.48pm, shares in OUE Lippo Healthcare are trading 0.2 cent higher or 8% up at 2.7 cents.
