Viswas Raghavan has been appointed Citi’s head of banking and executive vice chair. He is expected to join the bank in the summer, announced CEO Jane Fraser on Feb 26.

Raghavan will join the bank from JP Morgan, where he was its head of global investment banking.

Vis is yet another important, strategic hire to lead one of our five core businesses. His decision to join Citi from a strong competitor where he’s had a remarkable career speaks volumes about the enviable platform we have at Citi and is a recognition of the hard work we’re doing to ensure our bank reaches its full potential,” says a Citi spokesperson.

“He is excited about joining because he believes in our strategic vision, the talent we have at our firm and the value proposition that ’s unmatched global platform can offer clients,” adds the spokesperson.

In his new role, Raghavan will oversee the bank’s investment, corporate and commercial banking portfolios.
