Jardine Cycle & Carriage Limited has appointed John Witt as the new chairman of the group, following the announcement of the retirement of Benjamin Keswick on Aug 2.
Keswick has spent over 12 years as chairman of JC&C, and will also step down as a non-executive director, and cease to be a member of the nominating committee and remuneration committee. He will remain executive chairman of Jardine Matheson Holdings J36 Limited, the major shareholder of JC&C.
Incoming chairman Witt is currently the group managing director of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited. He has held the role since 2020 when he also became managing director of DFI Retail, Hongkong Land and Mandarin Oriental.
Witt joined the board of Jardine Matheson Holdings in 2016 and was its group finance director from 2016 to 2020. He has been with the Jardine Matheson Group since 1993.
Shares in Jardine Cycle & Carriage C07 closed 7 cents lower or 0.273% down at $25.58 on July 16.
