Prudential has appointed former Singtel CEO Chua Sock Koong and Ming Lu, partner and head of KKR Asia Pacific as its non-executive directors.
The appointments will be effective May 1.
Chua has over 30 years of experience in business leadership and operations in Asia, which includes her 13 years as CEO of Singtel.
She retired from her role as CEO on Jan 1.

Chua is also the non-executive director of Singtel subsidiary Bharti Airtel in India and a member of Singapore’s Council of Presidential Advisors.
Ming Lu also comes with over 30 years of experience investing and developing businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
He has been with KKR since 2006.
Neither Chua or Lu hold any shares in Prudential.
“The Board is appointing individuals with the experience and skills to guide Prudential’s transformation into a business focused exclusively on Asia and Africa. I am therefore delighted that Chua Sock Koong and Ming Lu are joining the Board,” says Shriti Vadera, Chair of Prudential.
“Chua Sock Koong has had a distinguished career with operational experience in many of our key markets, while Ming Lu has a long track record of investing and developing businesses throughout Asia,” Vadera adds.
Shares in Prudential closed flat at US$15 on Feb 4.
