Sats S58 has expanded its global leadership team with the inclusion of key members from its wholly-owned subsidiary Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), the world’s largest air cargo handler.
The line-up of its global group management board (GMB) now includes François Mirallié, group chief financial officer who now assumes the role of WFS deputy CEO; Michael Simpson, executive vice president who now becomes WFS CEO - Americas; and John Batten, executive vice president who is now WFS CEO - Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The inclusion of the three key members of WFS is a recognition of their contributions, track record and experience, says Sats in a filing.
Mirallié is a seasoned CFO who works closely with WFS’s corporate functions, while Michael Simpson and John Batten are experts in their field with deep knowledge of their respective markets.
Sats’ GMB comprises experienced leaders helming key business units, reporting directly to president and CEO Kerry Mok.
Although the responsibilities of the WFS leadership team remain unchanged, the CEO of WFS, Craig Smyth, is departing the organisation given the new direct reporting lines to Mok.
