Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) has appointed Lim Swee Say as a non-executive and independent director of the board effective June 1.
Lim, 66, was previously Minister of Manpower from 2015 until 2018. Prior to that, he was a minister in the Prime Minister’s Office as well as the secretary-general for the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) from 2007 until 2015

He served as a member of parliament from 1997 until 2020.
He currently also serves as an adviser to NTUC Enterprise Co-operative.
Shares in Singtel closed 1 cent or 0.41% lower at $2.41 on May 31.
