China Shenshan Orchard Holding has announced that Zhang Lei is stepping down as independent director of the group, according to a Sept 30 bourse filing. She will be replaced by Ngo Yit Sung, with effect from Oct 1. 

Ngo is also set to replace Zhang as a member of the group’s audit committee, nominating committee and remuneration committee. 

According to the group, Zhang has resigned to “devote more time for her other work and business commitments.” 

Prior to his new appointment, Ngo has served as executive director of TOTM Technologies from April 2021 to February 2023. Additionally, Ngo is also serving presently as executive director of Eneco Energy R14

and independent director of World Precision Machinery B49

His appointment is the culmination of a review from the board of directors, which has selected Ngo for his experience, knowledge and capabilities, reads the release. 

Shares in China Shenshan Orchard closed 1.1 cents higher, or up 9.57%, at 12.6 cents on Sept 30.
