Singapore and Germany have agreed on the establishment of a Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) on Oct 23.

While operational details, including procedural requirements, health protocols and application process have not been revealed, the RGL between both countries will enable essential travel for business or official purposes, according to a joint statement released by Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.

“Eligible applicants, who are resident in Germany or Singapore, will have to abide by the COVID-19 prevention and public health measures mutually agreed by both countries”, read the statement.

Both countries agreed that the RGL could serve as a model for future similar arrangements between Singapore and other European countries.
