SINGAPORE (Mar 21): KMPG says it has acquired the Singapore and Vietnam businesses of Rainmaker Labs, a Singapore-headquartered enterprise mobile application (app) developer and consultancy.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In a Wednesday announcement, the professional services firm says its acquisition comes as a move to bolster and augment its existing digital capabilities in mobile, cloud services, managed services and digital ledger (blockchain).
According to KPMG, its latest acquisition will serve businesses capitalising on the transformative opportunities provided by digital and mobile technologies and seeking regional growth opportunities.
It will also enable KPMG to offer its clients a “mobile-first, end-to-end suite of digital solutions ranging from creation and development to the deployment of digital platforms and applications in Southeast Asia”, adds the firm.
“This acquisition primes us to scale our in-house digital capabilities and increase our bench strength in digital innovation, co-creation and solutions deployment, creating a powerhouse of end-to-end digital transformation services and enterprise solutions,” comments Ong Pang Thye, Managing Partner at KPMG in Singapore.
Rainmaker Labs was founded in 2011 by former bank executives Alex Leong and Andrew Wong. Based on information found on its website as of 21 Mar, the company comprises more than 70 employees in Asia Pacific. It has designed and produced mobile apps for clients such as Hanergy, Courts and Ryde Technologies.
