SINGAPORE (Jan 14): Longines ended 2018 on a high with the official opening of a new boutique at Wisma Atria. A bigger space can only mean one thing: a wider range of timepieces.

The boutique’s crystal-clear façade allows the timepieces to draw the attention of shoppers. Inside, the luminescent white walls together with lacquered wood furniture matched with soft grey leather flooring create a warm welcome.

The store’s main attraction is the centrepiece. It is made up of five watch towers that display gold and diamond timepieces from Longines’ key collections — Elegance Watchmaking Tradition, Equestrian, Sport and Heritage.

At the boutique’s official opening on Dec 17, Taiwanese actress, model and Longines ambassador since 2005, Chi Ling Lin, celebrated the event with guests and media.

Back to nature

The new Loewe functional collection for men — Eye/Loewe/Nature — is for the city boy who loves spending his weekends in the great outdoors. The ready-to-wear collection focuses on practicality, with an innovative take on utilitarian standards. For example, parkas are constructed from technical materials and jumpers are knitted with partly recycled cotton fibre. Backpacks, while made for the outdoors, can also be used in the city as they have zips inside for safe storage of laptops and tablets.

Clear to see

Bags can get scratched and are subject to the vagaries of the weather. Pinko has launched the Thermoplastic Polyurethane, or TPU, cover in fashionable shades for its Love bag. Change the look of your bag while protecting it with these fun and playful covers, which are inspired by pop art.

In the mood

Looking to furnish your home or give it a makeover? Consider Flexform’s Mood collection. Its geometric design is taken to the next level with the use of materials such as premium woods, luxurious marble and lacquer finishes, as well as the addition of colours such as China Blue. The collection, which features uncluttered design and quality craftsmanship, is steeped in Italian cabinetry traditions.

In colour

Inspired by Empress Joséphine, wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, Chaumet has created a line that is dedicated to her. The Joséphine Aigrette collection celebrates her life through jewellery. Just like the effervescent personality of the Empress, the collection is now available in colour — semi-precious stones such as black spinel, pyrope garnet and rose quartz are used on rings, pendants and earrings.

Feminine elegance

Patek Philippe presents the new Twenty~4 Automatic for the styleconscious, independent woman. Adopting the aesthetic appeal of the manchettetype Twenty~4, launched in 1999, this timepiece features a new 36mm round case that combines a sleek silhouette with highly refined details. The dial has applied Arabic numerals and baton-style hands with luminous coatings while a slightly cambered sapphire-crystal glass echoes the sculpted shape of the case. The bezel is set with two rows of offset diamonds, the Dentelle (lacework) setting style amplifying their radiance. Twenty~4 is available in stainless steel or rose gold as well as with different dials, including a silvery face with finissage that emulates the look of precious wild Shantung silk.
