SINGAPORE (June 19): Keep smiling
Loewe’s latest collaboration with Ibiza boutique Paula will put a smile on your face. The Smiley face icon is found on the capsule collection and it has come at a right time. It is also something the world needs now, the Smiley icon, after all, is an icon of freedom and experimentation. To get you into the spirit, a selection of clothing and accessories are emblazoned with the Smiley motif in bright yellow — definitely something to bring cheer to that special someone.
An elegant accessory
The pared down look along with neutral shades are all part of Brunello Cucinelli’s elegant Women’s fall/winter collection. Handbags take centre stage as it is the key accessory when pulling a look together. Brunello Cucinelli’s bags are timeless especially with the use of natural leathers that feature delicate polished effects with prints and textures. The vintage look runs through the collection with geometric prints and some with destructured shapes.

Take your vitamins
The Body Shop has reworked its Vitamin E collection, adding more skin hydrating ingredients such as natural raspberry extract which is known for its antioxidant properties and hyaluronic acid. Start running
Running has been a form of solace for the many stuck at home as the Covid-19 pandemic rages. A new global study by sports and lifestyle brand ASICS found that since the start of the lockdowns, 36% of the 14,000 people polled are more active now than before. Meanwhile, 79% of respondents say running is helping them feel saner and more in control while another 65% say its mental benefits outweigh any other form of physical exercise. With these results in mind, ASICS will be hosting virtual races powered by its fitness tracking apps Race Roster and Runkeeper to motivate more runners while encouraging them to compete together safely. To help them stay active and connected, ASICS is also calling on runners of all levels to share their stories of how it has helped them via the hashtag #RunToFeel.

Retail stores may be shut during this “circuit breaker” period but brand owners are finding other avenues to share their products. Luxury watch and jewellery craftsmen Piaget, for example, is in the midst of launching a virtual boutique. Their purchases will be delivered straight to their doorstep. • Complimentary returns can be made directly at Piaget’s boutiques, which will reopen once the circuit breaker is fully lifted.
