SINGAPORE (July 17): Sneaker treats

Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger continues to explore the world of sports, fashion and heritage with its collections. The latest models combine archival elements from Onitsuka Tiger’s past with contemporary designs. The Dentigre boot combines the classical boot design and a coat–type shoe upper of different materials with its impactful sole and the Big Logo Trainer 2.0 MT, a hybrid of an upper inspired by vintage running-type shoes and the archival mid-cut sneakers and a modern sole.

The charm of a young star

Actress Millie Bobby Brown first caught our attention when she played Eleven in the highly successful Netflix series Stranger Things. Pandora has now appointed Brown as jewellery co–designer and face of the brand. Brown collaborated with Pandora’s designers and creative directors to co–design four dangle charms and an earring sold as a single stud as part of the range of new Pandora Me jewellery line inspired by Brown’s vision of summer. A starfish, pineapple, flamingo, ocean wave and sea turtle are the symbols Brown chose to bring to life in her co-creations. Brown says, “All of the symbols I chose are my absolute favourite parts of summer and each charm holds a fun memory or meaning to me.”

Inside out

Loro Piana offers the most practical tote we have ever seen, the Inside Out bag. As the name suggests, the bag is completely reversible and comes in four sizes with a combination of colours you can choose. Whatever colours you choose, each bag comes with a leather pouch, attached to the bag with a detachable strap, which can be personalised with small leather letters.

Healthy shower

Korean brand Ruhens has launched a series of shower heads with Vitamin C filters that come with three scents: Lavender, lime, and rose. It is not just a vanity thing as these shower heads moisturise hair and skin with Vitamin C, and have a calming effect with the essential oil filters. The need to create these filters stem from studies that show chlorine is largely used to destroy bacteria and germs in tap water but the residual chemical can also cause skin irritation, dry skin, and brittle hair when used daily. The Ruhens Shower Head filters out 99.9% chlorine and harmful particles from daily showers and infuses the water with pharmaceutical grade Vitamin C that benefits the skin and hair, reducing hair loss and moisturizes the skin.

A lavish creation

Swarovski joins forces with French haute couture designer Alexandre Vauthier and embroidery house Lesage to create intricate embellished pieces for the couturier’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection. One of the highlights of the collection has to be the exquisite translucent silk gown, with the loosely patterned embroideries of thousands of clear crystals flowing sensuously down the body from the straps to the hemline.

Perfect hair care

Take care of your hair health and do a final treatment after washing your hair with products from Diane Perfect Beauty Outbath from Japan. There are three items in the collection: Perfect Mist, Perfect Oil and Perfect Moist Essence which are all made with a blend of Argan oil, keratin and other botanical extracts. Each item will provide long–lasting hydration and repair hair damage throughout the day with just a quick spritz or comb–through.

Victor Hugo remembered

The Montblanc Writers Edition celebrates the literary giants who have made their mark on world literature through the power and artistry of their writing. This time, the honour goes to romantic novelist Victor Marie Hugo who penned The Hunchback of Notre–Dame, an endearing tale of fate and destiny as well as revolution and social strife . The story, set in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, tells the story of Quasimodo, the deformed bell ringer and his unrequited love for the beautiful La Esmeralda. In this writing instrument, the characters and themes of the novel are expressed in the design of this edition in black precious resin with platinum–coated fittings. For example, the cap is inspired by the imposing gothic architecture of Notre–Dame Cathedral in Paris while the skeletonised clip features the central rose window of the cathedral with a clip drop evoking the bell of Notre Dame rung by Quasimodo.
