Diamonds on your feet

As dinner invitations start to pour in, you need a footwear update. On Pedder has some innovative designs for this season and we spied Area’s crystal fringe kitten heels and René Caovilla’s crystalembellished sandals. All you need is a matching bling evening bag and you are good to go.

The outsider

The great British outdoors have inspired Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci to create his spring/summer 2021 pre-collection. He does not disappoint with the women’s collection: It features the iconic trench coat with logo prints and oversized bellow pockets. Prints used include houndstooth check wool suit cinched with knitted sports stripes and a marigold yellow check technical wool suit worn with a Vintage check shirt. Key colours are the Burberry tones of beige, birch brown, black and grey interspersed with bright accents in red, marigold yellow and citrus shades. Whimsical, for sure.

Vintage chic

The tortoiseshell frames of the past have come back, much to the delight of fans of all things vintage. Luxottica elevates the classic frames with their own design updates in shapes that will attract a new generation. To note: Tortoiseshell is a pattern traditionally marked by its neutral colouration and a patch-worked array of various tones of brown and taupe.

France gives back

Last month, Côte d’Azur restaurant La Guérite on the French Riviera held their first charity event post-quarantine that was supported by Chaumet. Hosted by models Natalia Vodianova and Anna Andres the funds raised went to Naked Heart France, an organisation that helps children with special needs in Russia. Of course, the hosts were draped in the many wonderful glittering collections by Chaumet. Andres (pictured) wears Laurier white gold diadem, Joséphine earrings and Bee my Love ring.

Get runway looks

Ever wanted the same look you saw on the models on runway shows? For Dior’s 2021 Cruise collection show, Peter Philips the creative and image director of Dior Makeup created a natural and luminous look with a focus on the eyes. You too can achieve the same look with the new Diorshow Mascara Iconic Overcurl and eyebrows are darkened with Brow Styler and Pump ‘n Brow. For the lips, try the Dior Lip Maximizer in 001 Pink while nails get the natural treatment with the Dior Vernis Muguet 108.

Graphic designs

Louis Vuitton launches the Craft collection that goes big on graffiti art and neo-expressionism. This is a throwback to the excesses of the 1980s where urban and underground trends ventured into new and established creative territories, including New York museums and galleries. Pop art and graphic prints are seen on the House’s most iconic pieces such as Onthego, NéoNoé and Boite Chapeau Souple. The Monogram Empreinte leather has a subtle and elegant touches around the chapes, the handles and the accessories.

A vision of beauty

With masks a mandatory accessory these days, eyes will be the focal point. Privé Clinic offers a solution to getting rid of eyebags with the Fotona 4D Laser + Fillers. This laser treatment penetrates into the deeper, medial and superficial connective structures of the skin, enabling significant collagen remodelling. There are four steps to this treatment, and the main aim is to stimulate collagen contraction and enhance new collagen production which will yield an overall improvement of firmness and elasticity of the skin. The final step is to remove dead skin cells to produce a healthy glow and unveil a natural smooth texture.

Keep it colourful

It is time to brighten up your shades. The Moschino Spring/ summer 2021 menswear pre-collection is a collection that could be one to look for as it uplifts our sagging spirits. One cannot help but feel happy watching the show as shades of yellow, purple, green, red and more pop up. This clearly establishes Moschino’s “fun in fashion” statement that is a joyful tribute to its fans, team and the world at this time.

In-store specials

Longchamp reopens at the Takashimaya Department Store at a new unit on level one. The 88 sq m boutique will house the oneof-a-kind bag that “tells the world it’s yours”. The immediate bespoke service also allows customers to bring home their statement pieces with a short waiting time. Other items that will greet you as you enter the boutique are the women’s handbags, shoes and leather accessories. In celebration of the brand’s new space, a new sophisticated green Le Pliage Club bag will be available exclusively at the boutique. The Dark Green is inspired by the colours of the racetrack drawn by Turenne Chevallereau in 1951, representing the legacy of quality.

Sustainable fashion

This year is the 110th anniversary of Italian luxury fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna. Under normal circumstances, there would be a huge celebration but these are not normal times. Ermenegildo Zegna XXX marks the occasion with the launch of the Summer 2021 collection with a digital show that was filmed in the archetypal Lanificio Zegna of Trivero and in the Oasi. True to the #UseTheExisting mindset of the show happens in places that exist and tell the story of the Zegna ethos — as such, it was a responsible production. The look includes dropped shoulders, lowered collars, layers and outsized pockets and zips that allow volumes to expand. It is a fluid look that men will enjoy.
