Just bought your million-dollar superyacht and need to know how to create a luxurious interior? Legendary and award-winning architectural and interior designer Jean-Michel Gathy has some ideas. He and Ocean Residences Development on M/Y Njord, a residential superyacht and the world’s most technically advanced green ship, set the interior design bar a notch higher.

At 293 meters, M/Y Njord has 117 luxury residences available in 21 distinct configurations comprising two to six bedrooms ranging from approximately 120 sq m to 800 sq m. This is the world’s only residential yacht to offer 14 duplexes and two spectacular triplex residences with private elevators.

Gathy’s signature style and designs span decks 10 to 13 alongside several principal residences and penthouses, presenting a homely, comfortable, smart casual and exclusive yet contemporary atmosphere. Everyone will be able to choose their identity for their residences.

For the larger ones, a walk-in wine cellar, cheese room, humidor, safe room, private gym, sauna, steam or many other facilities have been included to create an entire microcosm, a whole life onboard M/Y Njord as residents will be coming home to where the sun sets and the light changes in destinations such as New York, Barcelona, Tokyo, Sydney, The Arctic, Rio, Panama or The Amalfi Coast. Every design thought will consider this aspect.

Other features M/Y Njord have included an impressive array of amenities, including a marina, a yacht and sailing club, an expedition and dive centre and various watercraft. A professional-standard oceanographic research laboratory and a gyroscopic telescope are housed in the top deck observatory. Health, safety and well-being are paramount — the yacht will be equipped with the most advanced medical testing, monitoring and diagnostic equipment.
